As usual, John Redwood MP, gets to the heart of the matter. A recommended read – check it out!

The pain in Spain falls mainly on the private sector.

Personally, I totally endorse John Redwood‘s argument. I have friends both in the Private and Public Sectors in Spain, and they are agreed that the Spanish Public Sector is totally bloated and inefficient. The Spanish Central Government also has the challenge of regional government’s over which it has little political control.

To go further, I am really tired of European Governments banging on about austerity when as John Redwood points out, in Spain’s case, it falls largely on the Private Sectors. In my view, it is time to get growth moving, otherwise we are doomed to ten years of pain.

Do you think European Governments are being tough enough on their bloated Public Sectors?

A final word of reflection, for me, John Redwood MP epitomizes a real Tory which is very different from the dominant political group governing the UK Coalition Government. What ever happened to the 1922 Committee?
