I particularly identified with the following sentence in the last paragraph:
Let’s also be clear: inequality has taken off as an issue because workers have seen their pay effectively cut and their jobs threatened, thanks to a wrong-headed austerity programme
It’s only January but I predict that “austerity” will be a major news story for the whole of 2012, or until politicians come to their senses. I am hopeful that voters in the US, France and Germany will bring common sense to bear, as well!
