This lead article in the Daily Telegraph shows just how much Prime Minister David Cameron is grappling with straw. It’s well worth a read. Check it out!
The article is summarized in the last paragraph:
Ros Altmann, the director general of the Saga over-50s group, said: “It’s outrageous social engineering for the government to suggest older people don’t deserve to live in their own homes. We need to be careful in raising the pension age to recognise there are differences in life expectancy across the country.”

Who is going to employ them?
50% of those over 50 are unemployed or incapacitated and the anti ageism laws are flouted on a daily basis by recruitment consultants and 88% of the CIPD who regularly breach their own guidelines.
For 55 year olds the figure rises to 75% unemployment.
About 80% of all jobs ,unless we are talking about CEO and Directoral roles ,go to people of Eastern European descent so this is another piece of gratuitous advice which demonstrates a lack of comprehension of the realities of the jobs market by civil servants and politicians who should know better.
