Hi Alf – I can see you’re having the time of your life – and well deserved. I went to Antarctica in Feb 2009 – scuba diving in 1 deg C – with a routing very similar to your blog. Drake Passage, South Shetland , an old Russian Whalong Station, Port Lockroy and of course the penguins! Highlights though were the Lemair Channel through into Pleneau Bay, diving with leopard seals alongside the icebergs, followed by an unforgettable trip around the bay around ‘bergs of all, shapes , sizes and colours. As the sun set while we had dinner we heard a crack and a nearby iceberg carved before our eyes. Amazing.
Hi Clive, great to hear from you! Am really encouraged by your endorsement of Antarctica, it gives me the incentive to really make this happen:)
Best wishes
Alf
