Personally, I do not agree with the hard-landing school of China watchers. I see China’s policy-makers as knowledgeable, shrewd and prepared to intervene on a massive scale, where appropriate. I am very much looking forward to my visit to China in October.

This article from Reuters picks up on the highlights of the latest Manpower quarterly survey on jobs. Check it out!

It is interesting to see that Germany is beginning to suffer from the Euro uncertainties but overall the survey is bleak news for the unemployed, especially the youth unemployed, at 50% in Spain, for example.

For me, it comes back to the policy-makers not being ahead of the markets. There are still not enough policy-makers prepared to deal aggressively with growth, and too many who are tunnel visioned on austerity.
