For me, it would seem that the Fed is being unduly cautious in not actioning QE3, wary of it being considered a political action ahead of the election.

Meanwhile, speculators will be rubbing their hands, knowing the QE3 or the likelihood of QE3 will trigger a rise in global markets.

BBC News – Cutting salt ‘would cut cancer’

The article draws attention to hidden salt in bread and processed food like breakfast cereal but omits to mention that salt is used as an inexpensive flavouring in restaurants etc.

I hate EU measures but on this score would like to see enormous improvement in EU and international standards of reporting salt content. I fear that big food groups and supermarkets have a powerful lobby preserving the status quo.
