This is a good article sharing the views of top US economist, Joe Stiglitz. Check it out!
Joseph Stiglitz: Merkel needs a change in attitude to save euro | eurozone crisis News | The Week UK.
Stiglitz, the former senior vice president and chief economist of the World Bank, talked of the Euro breaking-up in Angela Merkel‘s lifetime unless she changes her attitude.
This week, the Economist has taken a broadside at Angela Merkel’s indecisive posturing on the Euro. Unfortunately, it’s not just a question of economics, and to be fair, Angela Merkel is facing a legal challenge on her previous decisions on the Euro, due for judgement September 12. Over the next month pressures will mount from economists, credit rating agencies, journalists, speculators, and, of course, politicians. To save the Euro, at the extreme, we might see a referendum in Germany or even a change to Germany’s constitution to accommodate the loss of national sovereignty – funny that, it’s not too far from the position of many in the UK Conservative Party!
