The euro: Tempted, Angela? | The Economist

This article from the Economist is a “must read”. Check it out!

The Economist brilliantly looks at the alternative scenarios and considers the risks of indecision from political leaders. The Economist restates its preferred position as:

This newspaper has argued that the euro zone’s members should use their combined strength to create a banking union and to mutualise a chunk of the outstanding debt (as well as introduce policies to temper austerity and promote growth).

Personally, I agree with the Economist’s solution to fix the Euro but still struggle to see the political leadership. To be fair to Angela Merkel, she has her hands tied behind her back and is currently awaiting a legal judgement September 12.

What do you think?
