It’s a bit hard to get one’s head around the numbers, they are so large. Amazingly, they dwarf the troika’s recent bale-out agreement.

Surely, it’s about time for the EC, the IMF et al to start helping Cyprus with investment?

Any thoughts?

Personally, I believe that because of Germany and the IMF, the terms of the Cyprus bailout were unnecessarily harsh. However, I was encouraged by this speech, especially the offer to help Cyprus back to growth.

For me, greater European focus on growth is overdue. As I have indicated many times on this blog, I still believe that Southern Europe needs a Marshall Plan to stimulate investment.
