I recommend the latest blog from Nobel winning, liberal, economist Paul Krugman, writing in the New York Times.

The Ignoramus Strategy – NYTimes.com.

In this blog, Paul Krugman challenges the case for austerity using really simple English and sound practical examples.

With austerity and the austerians so thoroughly discredited, why are political leaders like German Chancellor Angela Merkel still promoting austerity for most of Europe and modest export led growth for Germany?

Surely, there’s a case for translating the Paul Krugman article into German and debating it as a German election issue?

Do German voters seriously want Germany to be increasingly isolated?

What do you think?

George Osborne fails on George Osborne’s terms | Left Foot Forward.

All my life I have had conservative political values. Anybody who is interested can see my views on this blog. However, to my surprise I am increasingly identifying with progressive political opinion that favors some Keynesian growth stimulating measures. I cringe at the austerians and the economic pain and suffering they they have inflicted on millions of ordinary and young people since 2008.
