This is an excellent article from Nobel Prize winning, liberal, economist Paul Krugman, writing in his New York Times blog. It’s well worth a read. Check it out!

Whilst the article focuses on the US, it applies equally to the UK and Germany, in my view. This article needs translating into German and promoting by the German media ahead of the election in September. There is an urgent need to get the austerians leading the US, UK, and Germany to reflate, promote growth, create jobs and tackle the Lost Generation of youth unemployment.

In my view, policy-makers are not doing enough to stimulate demand, increase growth and create jobs for young people. Most economists target the US, the UK and Germany in being too austerian.
