Niall Ferguson apologises for remarks about ‘gay and childless’ Keynes | Books | The Observer.

Harvard economist Niall Ferguson issued a public apology for his smear of Keynes policies because Keynes was “childless and gay”.

Recently, the economic policy of the US, the UK and especially Germany, focusing on too much austerity, has been increasingly challenged  by main stream economists like Paul Krugman and the IMF.

Economists have argued that it is necessary to urgently reflate economies to stimulate demand to stimulate growth and reduce unemployment. These types of policies are founded on Keynesian economics, compared to the austerian policies currently being followed by mainstream policy-makers and their financial backers.
