Bavarian Companies Set Sights on Workers from Spain to Fill Jobs – SPIEGEL ONLINE.

The article provides some interesting insights into how Germany is trying to attract skilled workers from Spain.

I sense that this is very much a one-off program, sponsored by the local government in Bavaria. I fear that the reality is that with the current austerity policies ravaging Southern Europe, millions of workers need to migrate from the South to North to start to redress the economic damage caused by the Euro and excessive austerity.

Any thoughts?

via France should face up to its fears of a sombre future – FT.com.

The article provides some powerful insights into modern France, the fears of the French people and the ineffectiveness of the French political classes. I was intrigued that the UK was lumped with Germany and Poland where people had a positive outlook for the future, unlike Southern Europe.

So far, France has avoided a financial crisis like the rest of Southern Europe but both domestically and internationally nobody seems to now have any faith in the French President, former school teacher, Francois Hollande; certainly Germany has serious concerns about France.

Any thoughts?
