German Press Says Extended EU Recession Shows Austerity Ineffective – SPIEGEL ONLINE.
For me, this is article marks a watershed when the German media starts to challenge the German Government of Angela Merkel on austerity. The German media are taking a responsible position, sharing with German voters prevailing World opinion, ahead of September’s election. Of course, Germany is a modern democracy and it will be for the voters to decide but it will be interesting to watch German politicians trying to wriggle out of having caused the mess in Europe.
Any thoughts?
