Could youth vote stir up next European elections? | Reuters.

For me, democracy seems to have lost its way a bit in Europe. Too much power seems to have gravitated towards  Brussels and Berlin, in my view; also there are worries about unelected groups like bilderbergers. The article explores whether the youth of Europe will challenge the status-quo with protest votes; a radical change in the mix of Euro MPs could influence who is president, altering policy across Europe.

I believe that young people seem to share similar views with other young people, like greater tolerance of minorities.

Is it possible that the young people of Northern Europe could unite with the young people of Southern in rejecting Angela Merkel‘s vision for Europe?

All views welcome?

Faith leaders demand gay marriage rethink – Telegraph.

I am delighted to see that religious leaders have combined to challenge David Cameron to go more slowly with wider consultation as far as gay marriage is concerned. It always smelled to me like a cheap Conservative Office ploy to get more minority votes; somebody should tell the Conservative high command

that they will be losing traditional Conservative voters at the next election.

For me, gay marriage demeans the significance of marriage.

Any thoughts?
