German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble has never been bashful in sharing his views, which often come across robustly in other countries. Whilst this is clearly about electioneering ahead of the German election in September, it raises questions about the EU and Turkey. This is an excellent, MUST READ article by Ana Palacio, published by Project Syndicate. Ana Palacio is a former Spanish foreign minister, a former Senior Vice President of the World Bank, and is a member of the Spanish Council of State.

Reading this article helped me clarify my thoughts with regard to the US government‘s public response to Snowden revelations. For me, the article again opens up questions about President Obama’s judgement and leadership.
