This is an interesting short article in the China’s People’s Daily Online. It’s a RECOMMENDED READ, in my view. Check it out!
via China becomes largest source of overseas students – People’s Daily Online.
It’s probably no surprise that the US gets the lion’s share of students and the downstream economic and cultural benefits. What’s less well-known is that the US State Department has specific programs to encourage foreign students to study in the US and gain US work experience. However, according to People’s Daily Online, there is a certain amount of exploitation of Chinese student workers in the US.
As I was reading these articles and reflecting, I was thinking how different policies were in the austerity ravaged UK, where more money is given to foreign aid than encouraging foreign students.
Once again, surely David Cameron’s Government has got its priorities wrong?
Any thoughts?
