ICTs and the Health Sector | OECD READ edition.

Personally, I am not a healthcare expert. BUT I am able to see symptoms from failed policy decisions in countries like the UK and the US.

As I have written many times on this blog, here are two predictions.

  1. The UK’s NHS is beyond effective reform and will eventually be replaced by a new UK model of public healthcare, based on best practice in leading countries like Germany.
  2. In the US, Obamacare care will ultimately be a bigger failure than the UK’s NHS; there will be two pivotal weaknesses – the cost of the bureaucracy and the inability to reach the seriously poor for whom it will be too complicated.

Let me turn this to an open question:

Why are OECD governments not following evidence based policy on healthcare, rather than ideology based policy?

Any thoughts?

Failure on immigration will cost the Tories dear – Telegraph

This is another truly amazing political story from the Telegraph. It’s a MUST READ, in my view. Check it out!

Failure on immigration will cost the Tories dear – Telegraph.

Of course, the Government and the bureaucrats can’t control UK immigration effectively and the latest legislation promises to add greater bureaucracy to public services that are already at breaking point. For me, this article again shows  that the UK Government is weak on strategic analysis. However, I do agree with the article that the public are likely to penalize the Tories for non-delivery on immigration.

Turning this to an open question, let me ask:

What immigration policies would satisfy Tory voters?

Any thoughts?
