This link provides some excellent research on latest trends and challenges in Healthcare in OECD countries. It’s a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ. Check it out!
Personally, I am not a healthcare expert. BUT I am able to see symptoms from failed policy decisions in countries like the UK and the US.
As I have written many times on this blog, here are two predictions.
- The UK’s NHS is beyond effective reform and will eventually be replaced by a new UK model of public healthcare, based on best practice in leading countries like Germany.
- In the US, Obamacare care will ultimately be a bigger failure than the UK’s NHS; there will be two pivotal weaknesses – the cost of the bureaucracy and the inability to reach the seriously poor for whom it will be too complicated.
Let me turn this to an open question:
Why are OECD governments not following evidence based policy on healthcare, rather than ideology based policy?
Any thoughts?
