Obesity experts appalled by EU move to approve health claim for fructose | Society | The Guardian.

With the EU now approving fructose, it looks like Europe will play catch-up with US obesity levels, creating yet more pressure on the struggling healthcare sector.

How is it possible for the EU authorities and experts to blunder so badly?

Any thoughts?

Government spending

Dr Alf talks about safety nets in relation to Adult Social Care in the UK  but in reality nothing has changed.
If a person has assets of £23,500 gbp their home, if they have one, will either have to be sold or subjected to a charging order which is the present position.

There are several issues here:

1) 1.25 million dementia patients at the early stages of the disease have emerged and will soon require Adult Social Care

2) Our woman, already the fattest in Western Europe, and our men, the 4th fattest, are all likely to develop obesity and 40% of those will get diabetes and, of those, a percentage will require Adult Social Care.

The Government knows what that percentage is and although it has not been made public it will be higher than the number of nurses and doctors in the NHS who can treat them.

This is one of the reasons that the Government has not implemented the Dilnot Report on Adult Social Care

3) The NHS and Local Authority budgets on Adult Social Care should have been merged a long time ago and the number of UK County Councils should have been reduced to 15 from the present 65 along with police constabularies and fire commands.

The duplication and waste this causes, as well as the retention of Districts and Boroughs, as another costly and unnecessary tier of local government (their functions should be outsourced and offshored), means that:

–Business growth is impeded

–Unemployment is higher in what should be the productive part of the economy

–No money is available for Adult Social Care

4) Long Term Care insurance is too expensive and requires tax relief to encourage people to buy it

5) UK citizens have poor diet, do not exercise enough, drink too much, ingest too much sugar and salt and do not look after themselves properly.

As a result they are turning themselves into Adult Social Care recipients.

6) The Government seems unwilling to bring in variable taxes on food or compel the food industry to lower fat content, sugar, starch, e-numbers and salt content in food.

The same applies to the building of homes under aircraft flight paths (leads to dementia through antimony in the aircraft fuel), the building of homes within 1 kilometer of an electricity pylon, the use of aluminium in saucepans, cooking utensils, foil, packaging, deodorant, the use of aspartame, Bisphenol A, fluoride and certain chemicals in fertilizers, all of which should be banned.

7) Lack of proper information and education about healthy eating and living, vitamin supplementation and enabling personal philosophies not involving the use of serontonin uptake drugs.

This comes about because of the activities of the Alimentarius Commission to which the UK Government sends representatives in secret and whose pronouncements become EU Food Directives which the UK has to
follow

8) Lack of trained social workers to undertake the pre-assessment and assessment processes for Adult Social Care, plus lack of streamlined processes, and duplication within the system itself, and an excess of Adult Social Care call centers, which could be reduced to 15 for the entire country by building/using single greenfield sites for shared service centers incorporating :

— Adult Social Care

— Fire Dispatching

— Police 101 non emergency enquiries
— Standard Call Centre local authority enquiries

All operating to a Target Operating Model already developed and available for use after replication and amendment.
