Sadly, the UK Government and their supporting bureaucracy has no teeth these days. Perhaps, it’s to do with the European bureaucracy or maybe just the weak leadership of David Cameron’s government.
For me, it’s simple these ‘big six’ energy companies are operating an oligopoly, which is not in the public interest. Personally, I would go much further than the energy sector and intervene directly in all the former state-owned industries.
