As a Chartered Accountant by original profession, with a doctorate in Business Administration, and a former finance director for a large part of my career, I sometimes get annoyed at the term “bean counter“. In my professional career, I have worked quite closely with members of the UK forces, in both training and transferring best practice. Based upon my personal encounters, they are an outstanding group of professionals, with excellent discipline and a good sense of humor.

I reserve my fullest criticism for the meddling politicians and the bungling bureaucrats who are often serving their own narrow interests.
