Personally, I too favor giving China the benefit of the doubt. We have seen the evidence of Western multi-nationals and now it is China’s turn.

Simplice Asongu and Dr Alf are correct,China is often providing money where the West would not, and it only provides it in order to gain access to mineral wealth, rare earths, oil and coal in other words “something for something”.
The UK gives aid, often without any conditions at all, so that the money often gets stolen and ends up in Swiss bank accounts and in the hands of corrupt African dictators and their multiple wives and mistresses.
China should be given the benefit of the doubt and we should stop giving aid for nothing
