This is a thoughtful article by Will Hutton in the Guardian. It’s a RECOMMENDED READ, in my view. Check it out!
Regular readers of this blog will know that I strongly believe that UK austerity has been excessive. BUT, in my judgement, cuts have impacted front-line services and too many bloated bureaucrats on gold-plated pensions are still in place, so there is still much room for further remedial surgery to the Public Sector. I agree with Hutton that austerity has not been responsible for renewed UK growth.
Any thoughts?
