This is an EXCELLENT READ from Oxford economist, Simon Wren-Lewis. Check it out!

mainly macro: The UK’s macroeconomic battleground to come.

Like Wren-Lewis, I too believe that UK Chancellor, George Osborne‘s economic forecasts are not sustainable. The plans are based upon too much austerity and policies across government have been short-term and reactive, not holistic or strategic, against a vision. Wren-Lewis cites the evidence of the much respected Institute of Fiscal Studies. For another excellent analysis of the macroeconomic battleground see the research published by the Fabian Society entitled Fabian Society – 2030 – Vision.

What has truly amazed me over the last three years that I have been blogging is the extent to which politicians have ignored evidence, in favor of short-term political advantage, based upon ideology. David Cameron’s Government has been like a political butterfly jumping from flower to flower.

The Conservative Party Central Office seems to be dominated by whites from privileged backgrounds with elitist education, drawn from their sponsors, the top 1%. Paradoxically, they have deliberately targeted gays and ethnic minorities, ignoring traditional Middle-class Tory voters.

Let me turn this to an open question:

What will the Millennials want from the UK’s next government?

Any thoughts?

  10. I have not heard of Bisphenol A and other chemicals to reduce sperm count, it seems a good idea to lower sperm count, we do not want nor need a ever growing and expanding population, what sis more It is uncertain to my mind any how as to why we are all so into copulation that is now endemic, and although I have become now a grandfather, I have no interest in this little fat blob being endlessly pampered as if he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, these people that become grand parents and slobber over these little bits of micro humans, is to me revolting, it is uncertain as to why or what use these small people are, and they are akin to a a parasite type of overbearing liability to the environment.
Not only is it uncertain as to why people are here, living on the planet, but also in my time not only can I see a marked erosion of the [planet but also from what I can see the reason most people copulate is for vanity, I mean they want often to validate existence by bringing more carnage to the planet, like for filling the dreams of those who are unable to know why they exist?
I have been on this planet for several years past the date of what time you have here as what time the Bible says you are given, which for those who no longer know what the Bible is, says, three score and ten, at this stage if you are still with me , I have to admit I have no idea as to why I am here, the only pursuit I have is to understand what makes man corrupt, I have been a victim of being a person who has been hoodwinked by many different schemes, what is appalling, is that after a life time study, I fall prey to being trapped, the most recent being a solicitor who for $300.00 , advised I could get my licence back by ringing the road authority and paying money to them and getting it back, his advice which took him less than a minute to say and was complete nonsense, the scams are endless, all these people who are scammer’s must have had in the main doting mothers, and in time they have become corrupt and corrupting, why would you want to breed these sort of people? who in the main, from my experience rule the planet.

  11. The Millenials that Dr Alf refers to are being thrown on the scrapheap and not given hope as evidenced by 1.25 million NEETS without work or any real prospect of getting it, a further 1 million in training schemes and work placements and the next generation of school leavers who are going to be forced to stay on at school for another year and kept off the dole.

Two weeks ago David Cameron was talking about the benefits to young people of volunteerism in a complete abrogation of his duty to ensure that the young Millenials are:

–Educated to global best in breed standards

    –Are competitive

    –Are self disciplined

    –Have language skills

–Are job ready and willing to move anywhere on the planet to find work or are prepared to start their own businesses

People need to be able to leave home, strike out on their own, buy or rent a small house, marry, start a family of perhaps 2 children and support themselves.

Volunteering, make-work schemes, warehousing youngsters in Workfare programs, and engineering the truth out of existence, does not cut it, and has led to a situation where an average Englishman, Scotsman or Welshman cannot buy a house until he is 38.

The truth is that on current rates of growth at least 60% of Millenials will probably never work unless they emigrate (most are not qualified to do so) or start their own businesses.

You will not hear this from the Government or from the Opposition because the plan they are following calls for unfettered immigration and eventual outnumbering of the indigenous population who are being squeezed at both ends in a form of ethnic cleansing by stealth.

    This takes the form of:

    1) Ensuring that Millenials cannot marry, start families or support them by ensuring that there are no houses available (current shortage 11 million houses with a rate of new build of 100,000 a year leaving a shortfall which even with a frozen population would take 44 years to clear)

    2) Refusing to take really dramatic steps to increase inward investment improve language training that matches the scale of the problem

    3) Failing to act aggressively on dementia, diabetes, obesity and current productivity

    4) Allowing Bisphenol A and other chemicals into packaging, plastics and the environment to deliberately lower sperm counts and the “replacement rate ” to 1.88 when for the species to survive the rate needs to be at 2.4

    5) Allowing unfettered immigration whilst pretending not to do so
    6) Not supporting traditional marriage and deliberately encouraging the traducing of Judeo Christian ethics

The Millenials who like to use technology want the problem solved and know instinctively that they have been failed even though they may not know these specifics.

They know that the politicians are lying and have no real answers but have not yet been confronted with these realities by a public which is in a state of denial.

Because of lack of exercise and obesity they will be the first generation to predecease their parents and to solve the problem they have to wake up and do so themselves via web based businesses using their innate creativity or by emigrating under their own steam as I once did in my 20,s and my late parent,s did following World War 2.

Whilst it may sound unpatriotic to say it I would not advise any Millenial to remain in this country even though they should represent the country’s future.
