UK Immigration: Pseudo-research Pulls 385,000 Migrants Out Of A Hat.

Basically, the article accuses UK mainstream media of citing dubious research on potential inflows of Bulgarians and Romanians to the UK, effective January 1, on the lifting of EU transitional restrictions.

For me, this is important because it highlights how some of the UK’s major newspapers do not validate their sources. In this case, the methodology of the source is suspect. BUT newspapers, of course, rush to the headlines. It’s the same with austerity, the mainstream media just want to turn the page, irrespective of the evidence.

There is another part to this story. Even if we were able to predict the flow of Bulgarians and Romanians accurately, it is questionable whether the UK Home Office will be able to accurately record the number of additional immigrants in the UK from January 1.

Any thoughts on the potential outcome of the Bulgarian and Romanian immigrants?

  3. The Home Office was fiddling immigration figures prior to Enoch Powell,s “Rivers of Blood ” speech and his expose of what they were doing was the real reason for his sacking by the then Prime Minister Edward Heath.
    That was 50 years ago.
In the 1990,s we had a shortage of dentists and construction workers.
The then Labour Government predicted that 13,000 Poles would come to the UK and that all our troubles would be over.In reality the figure was 1 million as evidenced by school admissions of children of Poles and the number of notes and coins in circulation.
Half those Poles returned but were replaced by other Eastern Europeans plus people from outside Europe.
The then Labour Government brought in E-Borders a Raytheon system from America to “count people into and out of the country”.
As of this writing ,despite the best efforts of BT Global Services and Tech Mahendra(One of BT Global Services outsourcing partners from India),E-Borders is still not fully operational everywhere.
We lost the UK,s coastal protection vessel in 2012 so we have no way of counting people in and out of the UK especially as there are no checkpoints in places like Victoria Coach station.
The official population according to ONS is 63.5 million but the number of notes and coins in circulation, the amount of food sold in supermarkets and the number of mid term school registrations suggests that the real figure is 70 million.
With 19 million more NI numbers than there are people in the workforce and the ease with which passports and other documentation can be purchased in rogue mosques and through other nefarious sources suggests why illegal immigration is running at 250,000 a year.
The Romanians and Bulgarians will simply add to the problemand nothing will be done to effect real control

Earlier this year the Borders Agency was found ,like the Home Office, not to be “fit for purpose”(Sources:Charles Clarke and Dr John Reid, both Labour Home Secretaries).
Its functions were subsumed into the Home Office by Theresa May.
During 2012 the UK mothballed its “coastal protection vessel” and has still done nothing about the 19 million NI numbers in excess of the working population.
These numbers can be bought in downmarket pubs for £250 gbp along with new identities in rogue mosques which means that the 250,000 illegal immigrants who come here each year can disappear into the Black economy.
The evidence that sensible people like Dr Alf seeks comes from the amount of food sold in supermarkets which exceeds by a wide margin what the official population of 64 million people could possibly eat or drink
