This is an excellent article by, Andrew Haldenby, director of the independent think tank Reform, published in the Telegraph.
Personally, I struggle to believe that George Osborne has the bottle for the real cuts. It’s one thing cutting budgets with a bacon-slicer approach. It’s totally different to talk of cutting benefits for those in work.
If Osborne has the bottle, surely healthcare, overseas aide and now state pensions would not be ring-fenced?
