Today, I have focused on the environmental crisis from onshore gas in Holland and the potential huge source of offshore gas in the Eastern Mediterranean, most notably Cyprus & Israel. I have also tried to research EU energy policy but without much success. It seems that the Eurocrats are big on appliance labels but seriously light on strategy and risk analysis.

With the EU struggling from historically high unemployment caused by excessive austerity, surely it is time for the EU to focus on competitive, environmentally friendly and secure sources of energy?
