The article examines how Cameron’s grand-standing has made him deeply unpopular with the leaders of the EU. It concludes that Cameron is effectively a lame duck, even if he wins the next election with a mandate for an EU referendum. Basically, Cameron has excluded himself from effective political influence in Europe by pandering to back bench Tories.

Is Cameron’s flawed tactics on Europe just one isolated example or is the Coalition’s policy flawed in other important areas of UK national policy like economics, healthcare, defense, local government, foreign affairs?
