This year, we have had US Vice President, Joe Biden visit Cyprus and talk up the strategic importance of Cyprus gas for Europe, which is currently desperately dependent upon Russian gas via Ukraine. Biden also stressed the need for Cyprus and Turkey to reach agreement on the future of the north of the island which is occupied by Turkey.
Perhaps, hard headed commercial interests will influence Turkey’s foreign policy?
