Germany is just as much at risk of international terrorism as say the US, the UK, France, Israel or Russia. But German would perhaps struggle to defend herself or go after terrorists?
This is a difficult dilemma for Germany. It favors a united approach from Europe but the reality is increasingly fractious because of fiscal policy and the Euro. Indeed Germany needs to be careful not to alienate her neighbors further – she must be conscious of right-wing nationalism in Japan making China increasingly angry.
Let me ask an open question:
Surely, it’s about time that Germany contributes a fair share to NATO in accordance with her relative economic wealth?

Dr Alf is right, Germany will have to contribute more to NATO and Western defense.
However, those demanding this are going to have to be mindful of old, and not so old, folk memories of the past 100 years.
The contribution needs to be money, weapons and fighting and storming robots, rather than German soldiers, plus advanced stealth ships and submarines.
In the same way, that car factories were switched to making weapons, Germany can rearm NATO and through the building of Terminator robots can assist with the hunting down and eradication of radicalized Muslims and ISIS/ISIL/Korasan/Boko Harem /Al Shabab fanatics in Syria, Iraq, Kenya, Somalia, Nigeria, Yemen and anywhere else where they hide.
Germany has the best engineers in the world and should develop a robot cloning capability using 3d printing and self replication.
Large numbers of these robots, ideally capable of traversing desert terrain, or being parachuted into an area held by these Muslim fanatics could then be dropped into areas surrounding newly captured territory and into built up areas and then used as “the boots on the ground” without the need for legal sanction by Parliaments.
This would ensure minimal loss of blood and treasure on the part of Western troops and save Western Governments the problem of what is happening as these lunatics are actually allowed to return to their countries of origin.
