Dr Alf puts forward an intriguing proposition ,a Japanese female Prime Minister with the people skills and political nous to engage with Japan’s neighbours,particularly the Chinese and others in that part of the world.
In that chauvinistic society it could take a long time but a more emollient operator than Abe like Obuchi would be preferable to us and of greater benefit to Japan than a man who visits shrines where war criminals pay homage and who creates unnecessary confrontation in a potentially dangerous part of the world.
