This article highlights how Obama so-called strategy is just not robust. Indeed it never really was a strategy, just an excuse for Obama taking the weakest possible line in responding to ISIS.

In recent years, Turkey has had remarkable economic growth on the back of extensive investment from the West.

Let me ask an open question:

Is it perhaps time for the West to signal potential economic sanctions on Turkey?

  1. Dr Alf is right ,Turkey needs to have sanctions applied to it in order to keep it on the straight and narrow now that American pressure has forced Erdogan’s hand.
    Any further backsliding by Erdogan should warrant swift regime change and replacement.
