This is an important and informed article from Gideon Rachman, published in the FT. It’s worth a read. Check it out!

What concerns me about this article and several others that I have seen recently is that democracy seems to be subordinated.
Surely, it’s for the Greek people to decide their fate, not those that pump fear into the financial markets?
Thoughts?
Well, as you know, this is why l think we should leave the EU. There seems to be no convincing economic for either staying or leaving – but the anti-democracy way in which the EU has developed is extremely worrying. Yes, let the Greek people choose how they want to move forward. It’s their country and their lives.
Now for a referendum here – where the people have had no say in the morphing of a common market into a political organisation seeking to centralise ever more power.
Rodney,
Thanks for sharing your views, as always.
Well, we both passionately agree about democracy and how it is increasingly being undermined.
For the moment, I’m still very much pro-Europe but a slimmed down, less invasive model.
