It seems that Germans are outraged by the ‘finger gesture’ from Greece‘s Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis. Varoufakis passionately denies the insult and strongly maintained that the Youtube footage had been doctored. Now the host of a ‘right wing’ German chat show has come forward with new evidence.

Personally, I have very mixed views about Yanis Varoufakis. He’s seems too arrogant and as the new kid on the block is throwing his weight about – but he’s not strong enough.

Greece is desperate for a life-line from Germany to refinance debt yet as each day goes by Greece makes resolution harder. A few days ago Greece poked another finger at Germany with the anti-austerity legislation. Then we’ve had the war reparations claim. Now there’s ‘the finger’ from Varoufakis.

Surely with ‘Fingergate’ scandal, Varoufakis is stiffening the resolve in Germany for the consequences of a Grexit?
