Why English voters should fear Labour as much as the Scottish people?

According to all the polls, the Labour Party will face a wipe-out north of the border in Scotland. It’s interesting to speculative why Scottish people are so strongly anti-Labour? The most obvious answer is despite the results of the referendum, they expect the SNP to press for a more independent Scotland. Perhaps, they feel passionate about Trident? I suggest that the Scottish people have been let down time and time again by a Labour Government in Westminster. They know that Labour struggles to deliver campaign policies, with vast centralized funding lost in bureaucratized projects and bloated administrative inefficiencies. English voters need to reflect carefully that Ed Miliband is very left-wing, compared to the ‘Third Way‘ politics of Tony Blair. Ed Miliband is light on leadership, charisma and experience but he’s quite radical – a toxic brew. There is an alternative, a safe pair of hands. Thoughts?

  1. The Labour Party in my lifetime and Dr Alf’s have caused a brain-drain and ruined the economy several times.

When Margaret Thatcher took power the country was in so much debt that she had to go to the Sultan of Brunei to bail it out and release us from the clutches of the IMF.

Before that, we were the laughing stock of the world because under Labour we had the annual ritual of coal miners shutting off the lights, railwaymen refusing to drive trains, postmen engaging in strikes and restrictive practices from Labour’s trades union backers.

We lost shipbuilding to the South Koreans, clothing manufacture to China, software development to India, and then as now productivity per worker has fallen to 20th in the world and 16% behind the average for the G7.

Two thirds of the Labour front bench are gay and therefore wholly unrepresentative of most ordinary people in the population where about 1 person in 90 is gay. Their values are not traditional family values of the kind promoted by our strategic competitor nations around the world, yet in those countries like Singapore and South Korea, there is a recognition that traditional marriage and family life are critical for strong economies and prosperity and the inculcation of strong family values in children.

Labour are weak on law and order, weak on immigration and weak on the need for discipline and competitiveness in schools.

Worse than that they back wasteful practices in hiring within the public sector and create armies of people who sit in un-elected quangos and profligate local authorities who harass the substance out of people and bring in economically illiterate policies which damage business. Rent controls at a time when we have a shortage of 12 million houses and the Mansion Tax are just 2 examples.

There is a clear choice which is to vote Conservative and to not listen to siren voices promising gain without cost or pain, particularly from those who have never worked in the real world and have done down their own brother.
