Dr Alf poses an interesting question but I think France needs to restructure it’s economy before it can replace Germany as the leading country in Europe.
Greece will, unless it changes its ways, be back in the same position in a few years time, and Angela Merkel will be replaced as Chancellor in due course.

Estrogens in fertilizer and Bisphenol A and other chemicals in tins, plastics, till rolls and foodstuffs have been causing infertility in British men to the point where they have the lowest sperm counts in Western Europe.
The estrogens change the sex of fish in UK rivers and are responsible for the incidence gay men and men with “moobs”(male breasts).
The phenomenon of moobs has of course spread to China along with the growth of fast food outlets, including KFC.
The Chinese should reclaim their heritage and not adopt Western fast foods but instead follow their own diets and only eat properly cooked Western foods that are not full of additives and preservatives.
As Dr Alf may know the debate about sugar and salt content in Western diets is now beginning in earnest despite pressure from the food manufacturers .
This is due to the obesity crisis that threatens our health care systems such as the UK’s dysfunctional NHS.
