According to the Economist, America has reacted with consternation to the notion that, after it has expended hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of lives, Russia might regain the hold on Iraq it last exercised at the height of the cold war.

Simply, Russia is decisive, credible and successful, whereas Obama‘s policies are in tatters.

Surely, it’s about time that America held Obama responsible for his foreign policy failures?

To answer Dr Alf’s question, Hilary will move to the left, and where necessary to the right on all sorts of issues, and has the necessary war-chest in excess of $2 billion USD to go all the way and win the Presidency as her ultimate masters decided a long time ago.

Saunders and Donald Trump may make interesting theatre and make telling points as they deliver home truths but in the end the play has been written and the ending has already been decided barring death, madness or a serious accident. Even then, there is a Plan B in the form of the Spanish-speaking Jeb Bush.

Dr Alf will, along with other pundits, see Hilary Clinton overcoming her troubled past and the “slick willie” image of her charismatic but philandering husband and then pulling away from her opponents.

She has ruthlessness, staying power and the intellectual firepower to overcome all of the Republican candidates and even the most charismatic and effective Democrats.
