According to the UK’s conservative Telegraph, China’s ambassador has warned Jeremy Corbyn against confronting the Chinese President over his human rights record ahead of Tuesday’s state banquet.

Clearly China knows how to behave properly but it remains to be seen whether hard-left, leader of the UK’s Labour Party knows how to behave.

It’s significant that the Chinese ambassador has fired a warning shot. This is all deeply embarassing for the Labour Party. Elsewhere, leaks in the US have questioned Tony Blair’s strategy in Iraq – he’s looking incresingly like an opportunist in latest leaks.

  1. Jeremy Corbyn is a cultural Philistine who postures and grandstands and knows nothing about how important it is to get trade and inward investment from China. He understands even less about their view of human rights which is that by creating 25 milllion new jobs a year, transforming a rural economy into an export powerhouse, rooting out corruption and building new cities where people can live, they are already delivering prosperity and “human rights”.

The West’s record on human rights is nothing to write home about given Abu Graib, 1 million dead in an illegal war in Iraq, 3 million refugees, billions of pounds in war damage, “extraordinary rendition”, torture, Guantanomo Bay, etc.

As Dr Alf and his readers will know, with the Chinese criticism has to be conducted in private and in general one criticises from a position of strength rather than weakness whereby the recipient of our criticisms is in a position to answer back.

Corbyn needs to be silent and his rivals in the Labour party demonstrate their uselessness and mendacity by allowing this dinosaur to spout off and damage the country.
