Fox News reports that a teen girl from eastern Oregon has contracted the bubonic plague. It seems that there is circa seven cases of the bubonic plague reported each year in America.

Personally, I had thought that the plague was an extinct desease. In the Middle Ages, the plague nearly destroyed London.
These days the plague can be treated effectively with anti-biotics if caught early but there is no vaccine currently available.
