The Guardian reports that the Labour leader says party policy is to oppose airstrikes and calls for vote to be delayed but tells his MPs they can vote with their consciences.

This is a shrewd move from Jeremy Corbyn. His letter to the prime minister asking for a full two-day debate makes sense too but he probably knew that David Cameron only had Wednesday available this week.

Whilst Labour MPs don’t have a whip, they now know from Corbyn what Labour Party policy articulates. Also Corbyn is able to cite wider support from the Labour Party.

It will be interesting to see how David Cameron responds because he desperately does not want a parliamentary defeat on this issue.

So imagine some of us living to 120 years. It will create quite a challenge for supply-chains and healthcare systems, like the UK’s much problemed NHS.

With technology and globalization destroying traditional jobs, the challenge is to keep people motivated and adding value to society.

Perhaps, somebody should tell the middle-aged, white American males, who according to latest evidence are increasingly abusing alcohol and drugs, and often turning to suicide?
