Opinion – Britain’s friends are right to fear Brexit – Martin Wolf – FT.com – John Gelmini

I’m afraid I cannot agree with Martin Wolf at the FT when he says that Brexit might well be seen as the time when the West starts to unravel.

This piece, brought to us by Dr Alf, is alarmist on several counts.

President Obama, probably one of the worst Presidents in recent years and a man who Vladimir Putin, Shi Jin Ping, the Iranians, Erdogan, The House of Saud have run rings round is hardly the man to arrest Western decline, something which started more than 30 years ago with the rise of offshoring, China, India and the ability of people in the Far East to outwork us, out-produce us and emulate our technology at great speed.

What Martin Wolf’s masters at the FT fear, as regular Bilderberg attendees, is not the unravelling of the West but a slowing down of their alleged masterplan which is to enlarge the EU to the Russian border, further enlarge it to incorporate Israel and selected French speaking African countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea and then join it in fully enlarged form to America, Canada and Mexico.

They want the UK in Europe to make budget contributions and in terms of the West as the “Free World”, the Americans want Europe to burden share within the context of an enlarged NATO which will press Russia hard and have the global capability in conjunction with Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Australasia of containing the rise of China by military force.

The question of the EU membership of the UK and the real but unstated position of the FT’s owners and not Martin Wolf, is the true issue here.

The various “Sir Bufton Tufton’s” that Private Eye used to write about and that Dr Alf probably sees as Luddites and ostriches incapable of adding two and two together let alone producing a reasoned risk assessment are living in the past and cannot see this bigger picture which is rapidly emerging which is preparation for World War III, just as Confederate General Albert Pike wrote about it in his letter to Mazzini in 1871 which can be seen on the internet to this day.
