This is an excellent must-read article from the Economist. It argues that the European Union would suffer from Brexit—which is why it could not be kind to Britain afterwards

Returning to the UK, none of the forecasts and risks assessment for a Brexit promise an easy ride. BUT if we accept the worse-case scenarios the people of the UK are looking at severe economic hardship for years and many generations.

Meanwhile, the Brexiteers don’t have any economic projections based on evidence, nor proper risk reviews.

Let’s hope that the UK will face up to the biggest threat since WWII. There’s only one safe route, stay in the EU and be an integral part of charting it’s future.
