Forget Brexit – austerity is far worse for the UK economy – the Conversation

In this outstanding article the Conversation argues that beneath the blur of Brexit claim and counterclaim, we seem to have forgotten that there’s a deeper problem preventing economic recovery.

Personally, I tend to endorse the arguments made in this article. Austerity has been applied for too long and unevenly. Countries like France have been able to ignore the Eurozone’s Fiscal Compact.

My conclusion reading this article is that with a Brexit win, there will be a strong swing to the right and even more austerity. The Brexiteers are not publishing how tough it will be because of the impact on their campaign.

Perhaps, Brexiteers should be reminded of the deprivations of the years during and after the Second World War?

Thoughts?
