This is a brilliant, must-read article, in the Guardian, by Labour MP, Tristram Hunt. He passionately argues that to protect Labour values in the Tory Brexit renegotiation, we need someone with insight and nous – he concludes that’s not Jeremy Corbyn.
This article, of course, echoes the powerful op-ed in the NYT by former PM, Tony Blair.
For some of the more disadvantaged members of society, the penny may not yet have dropped. But there will be massive cuts to public services to sustain the UK economy, with more people out of work or in jobs without worker protection. Of course, the immigrants will still be in the UK because they are necessary to compensate for the shortfalls in the UK workforce.
If Corbyn does not go quickly, more Labour supporters will switch to Farage and his racist followers. There is a historic parallel in Germany – it was called National Socialism or more commonly Nazism.
