Citing Jeremy Corbyn, the Independent reports that Labour will block the UK’s exit from the European Union if the Government is unable to guarantee access to the single market.
By making access to the Single Market pivotal, Jeremy Corbyn has put pressure on Theresa May‘s government, possibly forcing it to call an early election – an early election would pose further challenges for Brexiteers.
Thoughts?
An early election should be called so that the Conservatives secure a large working majority. Then we need a reduction in the overall number of MP’s so that Corbyn and his Red Guard can be reduced to a cipher followed by House of Lords abolition and replacement with a slimmed down Senate. In the meantime Mrs May must appeal the legal decision and strike new trade deals outside the EU
John,
I agree with you about an early election and cutting the number of MPs. However, I do not believe that new trade deals outside the EU will match the potential loss of trade with the EU with a hard Brexit – certainly, for the forseeble future
Unless something is done to curb executive pay ,increase worker productivity and get directors out of their boardrooms and into cars, planes and sleeper trains selling things we will have a problem with increasing exports.
Whether Mrs May is prepared to light a fire under these people is a moot point but sooner or later it has to be done.
