Trump removes Stephen Bannon from National Security Council in staff shake-up – LA Times

According to the LA Times, President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has gained power in foreign affairs, after Trump has removed chief strategist Stephen Bannon from the National Security Council in a shakeup – the move consolidated the power of White House national security advisor, H.R. McMaster.

The switch back to a more normal structure for the NSC will be viewed favorably and many will breath a sigh of relief that the scary hard-right Bannon loses influence in foreign affairs. Others will fret at the Trump family’s growing influence.
