This is an important read by Zeit. The article claims that Merkel’s critics say the chancellor encouraged hundreds of thousands of people to flee to Germany. But the data tells a different story according to Zeit.

For me what is significant is how slow the German authorities were to react. Also if the German authorities undertook a proper risk assessment and contingency planning, it’s just possible that the Brexit referendum might have been avoided.
