EU sets out Brexit mandate for chief negotiator Barnier | News | DW | 22.05.2017

Here’s a good article from German news agency DW. It reports that EU ministers have given the bloc’s lead negotiator for Brexit his mandate for the negotiations but French former diplomat Michel Barnier is not expected to begin talks until after the UK general election in June.

Europe seems to have her ducks in a row but Theresa May‘s team seem to be on the back foot. The Brexit ministers, Davis, Johnson and Fox look increasingly flaky. If Theresa May wins the election, hopefully she’ll strengthen her Brexit team and replace Fox and Johnson, if not all three.

  1. Dr Alf is correct all 3 BREXIT negotiators need to be replaced along with her weaker Ministers like Hammond,Greening,Green,Brokenshire and Rudd and Mrs May needs to be in the cross hairs of the “Men in grey suits” of the 1922 Committee so that if she looks like botching the BREXIT negotiations she can be surgically removed and replaced with someone up to the job.
As things stand she is ruling out too many areas of expenditure which need to be cut now so as to make BREXIT less initially painful than it needs to be.
This weakens her hand through a failure to create “facts on the ground” with which to remind Barnier that the negotiation is a 2 way street rather than a 1 sided cakewalk for him and Mrs Merkel.
