Here’s a powerful and worrying piece in the Independent. It argues, like or loathe his politics, President Emmanuel Macron has done something that puts the UK to shame today, he has welcomed Donald Trump to France for Bastille Day.
Normally, because of Brexit we focus on the ‘Little Englanders‘ of the ‘Far Right‘ but this article reminds us that there are ‘Little Englanders’ on the ‘Far Left‘, including Jeremy Corbyn, who’s planning to be UK prime minister in the Autumn.
Even without Brexit, the UK is isolated geopolitically and probably now only able to fight ‘below weight’, a shameful situation for a historic and great nation.
Yes, May’s government is ‘weak and wobbly’ but Corbyn’s projected government is much ‘weaker and wobblier’.
Surely, there’s a prudent path back to strength for the UK?
Thoughts?
