Citing new research, Pew explores why Muslims are the world’s fastest-growing religious group. It concludes that the main reasons for Islam’s growth ultimately involve simple demographics, namely Muslim women having more children and the average age of Muslims being younger.

The stdy is simple, clear and well supported by graphics and analysis. The greatest growth concentration will be in Africa and the Middle East. But other countries with Muslim populations will see similar proportion growth.

facing twin threats, increased growth of existing Muslim families, plus likelihood of a significantly increased immigration from the explosion in Africa and the Middle East. When Angela Merkel opened Europe‘s doors to refugees and economic immigrents, it triggered a wave of political change in Europe. In particular, it probably precipitated Brexit but also heralded the rise of the Far Right in many European countries. Other factors to consider are the impact of Islamic extremism and population growth, plus the risk of regional wars.

The bottom line is that political leaders do not seem to be ready for the influx of more Muslims.
